A Kilgetty driver has been fined in court for exceeding the speed limit on the A477.

Forty-three-year-old Darlyn Castro Trezise, of Park Avenue appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday after she had been clocked by a manned speed camera travelling at 72 mph in a 60 mph zone on the single carriageway on September 26 in a Ford Kuga Titanium.

Mrs. Trezise told the court that she had been looking to respond to the speeding charge and indicate that she wished to take a speed awareness course rather than have points imposed on her licence, but had missed the two week deadline to respond, as she was flying to the Philippines for a month the day after she had received notification of the charge.

Magistrates fined her £153 for the offence and endorsed her licence with three penalty points. She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £32 victim surcharge.
