AT 6:23pm last night the crew of Angle Lifeboat received an immediate tasking to assist with the search for a missing surfer at Broughton Bay Beach, Gower.

With Burry Port Inshore Lifeboats also tasked, but other all-weather lifeboats in the area unavailable the crew were tasked to assist.

As the crew were mustering, the launch was subsequently cancelled when the casualty was located safe and well.

It follow’s Monday’s shout, when at 11:24pm on Monday night the crew were tasked to assist three teenagers cut off by the tide between Hakin Point and Conduit Beach.

The lifeboat was soon on scene and located the casualties on the rocks, unable to clamber to safety due to rain making the rocks treacherous.

The lifeboats inflatable Y boat was deployed and all three persons were eventually transferred onto the lifeboat. They were then taken the short distance into the marina and handed over into the care of their family, Dale Coastguard Rescue Team and the police.

With no further assistance required the crew were stood down, where the boat was readied for further service by 1am.
