An exciting second round of Pembrokeshire Karting's Winter Endurance League saw the Pembrokeshire Hell Drivers extend their lead at the top of the standings.

Teams and competitors experienced their first outdoor two-hour endurance race of the league at the Carew Karting circuit. The racing proved challenging, with plummeting temperatures and the track's flood ights providing the only source of illumination.

Despite the conditions, the racing proved to be highly competitive, with eight laps separating the top five teams. The Average Joe's were at full strength for the event, able to field all four drivers, and came within a single lap of claiming their first victory of the campaign, with the Goodwick Motor Services team debuting strongly to finish four laps down in third. The Salad Dodger Racing team and Folly Farmers raced neck and neck throughout the event, only for the Salad Dodgers to beat the Farmers by a margin of just four seconds.

Organisers revealed at the event that the winning team of the Winter Endurance League will each receive free entry in the upcoming Formula Dragon competition, organised by the company behind the 'So you want to be an F1 driver?' show broadcast on Channel 5 and ITV, where winning entrants will progress to receive the opportunity to become a professional racing driver.

The final round of the Winter Endurance League takes place February 8 at West Wales Karting. Spaces are still available for teams to register a last minute entry. Full details and information can be found at http://www.pembrokeshirekarting.co.uk">www.pembrokeshirekarting.co.uk.
