Congratulations to Tenby Bowling Club's John Roberts who was a member of the Welsh team which won the Home International series at the weekend.

Played at Llandrindod Wells, John played second in the rink skipped by Robert Weale, of Presteigne. Also in the rink were Owain Dando (Brynmawr) at lead and new cap, Wayne Griffiths (Welshpool) at third.

The rink were unbeaten throughout the two-day series chalking up wins against Ireland, defending champions Scotland, and England.

What's more, the Welsh team also went undefeated and were crowned series winners lifting the coveted winner's shield for the first time since 2003.

The series win was indeed also a fitting tribute to Robert Weale who received his 100th cap over the weekend.
