Kidwelly 28 pts.
Tenby United 15
Despite missing 11 players from the team that beat Felinfoel, due to injury, sickness and holidays, the Seasiders put up a good show against the league leaders Kidwelly, running them close at their own ground.
Sponsored by GD Harries, FBM Holidays, Andrew Price, Molson Coors and Broughton Caravans, Tenby saw the hosts control most of the first half and deserve their 22-5 half-time scoreline.
Kidwelly opened the scoring with a penalty from number 10 Jamie Evans on five minutes, before going on to score two good tries within the next 15 minutes, both converted by Evans.
Tenby fought back and after an astute kick through, Kidwelly's fullback and winger fumbled the ball over their try line and Dai Meyrick pounced to score the try, which went unconverted.
Before half-time, Kidwelly scored another try, which was unconverted, to leave them leading 22-5 at the interval.
Kidwelly scored almost from kick-off, but a Tenby player deliberately knocked on to prevent the try and was yellow-carded, but the penalty kick was missed.
Tenby then played their best rugby of the afternoon, with two tries from Mark Heywood and Jack Guerreiro, both unconverted.
The Seasiders were well on top at this stage as the forwards took control and came close on two more occasions.
Kidwelly were continuously playing the offside game and eventually the referee sin-binned one of their forwards, with the scoreline 22-15 at this point.
But Tenby failed to capitalise on this situation and Kidwelly were awareded two kickable penalties, both converted, to leave the final score 28-15.
Great credit goes to the Tenby side for fighting back, with the forwards providing the backs with a solid platform for the whole afternoon.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Tenby are away to Ammanford (not home as some fixture lists have reported).
