Marathon season has started for the TROTs running club, with Mary Bowen-Rees completing the Paris Marathon on Sunday in 3 hours 26 minutes.

Other members are preparing for the London Marathon by competing in local races. Mike Evans is on good form, winning the Pendine Ultra on Sunday in 4 hours 18 minutes, and also winning the HBA 20-mile on March 24. Also taking part in the Llanelli-based race were Elizabeth Tremlett, Catharine Bleasdale and Keith Powell.

Simon Scurrell won the HBA 10-mile race on the same day, to make it a double for the TROTs.

The TROTs men won the team silver medal at the Teifi 10-mile race held in Lampeter on March 31. The race incorporated the Welsh 10-mile championship, which saw Jason Dickinson win the M45 bronze medal and Mark Terry the M55 silver medal. Elizabeth Tremlett was third open female and Catharine Bleasdale was second F35.

Also taking part were Dean John, Jonathan Jones, Simon Scurrell and Keith Powell.

March 3 was a busy day for the TROTs. Huw Gibbon and Sian Harries competed in the St. David's Day 10K in Cardiff, while Caroline Jones completed the 5K race and gained first place in the F50 category with a time of 21.55.

Eleven club members took part in the Llanelli Half Marathon: Mike Evans, Jason Dickinson, Tim John, Peter Walters, Mary Bowen-Rees, Keith Powell, Kevin Jenkins, Chris Birch, Ian Richards and Pauline Thomas. Ann Thomas was first in the F45 category with a time of 1.24.02.

Six members of the club represented West Wales at the Inter-County Cross Country Championship in Birmingham on March 9. Mike Evans, Adam Roberts, Daryl John, Jonathan Jones, Elizabeth Tremlett and Catharine Bleasdale performed well in a very competitive field.
