At the recent 220 Triathlon awards held at Sandown Park, The Mumbles Triathlon was voted the best event in the UK.
Handing out the awards was GB athlete Tim Don, closely watched by four times world champion Chrissie Wellington.
Matthew Evans, of Activity Wales Events, said: "We are very privileged to be blessed with some stunning coastlines throughout our race series with the Long Course Weekend and Wales Triathlon hosted in Pembrokeshire and The Mumbles and Gower Races along the Swansea coastline.
"It is always fantastic to be thanked like this by our athletes, it means we are going in the right direction. But every year we develop and reinvest into every race we do and we hope this year's event is as special as every other."
Scott Powell, of Activity Wales, continued: "Our focus at every race is to create an experience, not only for the athlete, but supporters and the local communities too. We do work very closely with our communities and they are an integral part of everything we do; so this is for them as well."
The season starts this weekend, March 23, with Wales' largest duathlon at 7.30 am next to Verdi's, The Mumbles, Swansea. The Mumbles Triathlon is on June 22.
The Long Course Weekend takes place on July 12-14 in Tenby. The Wales Triathlon takes place on August 3 in Fishguard and the Gower Triathlon ends the season on September 21. All details are available at http://www.activitywalesevents.com">www.activitywalesevents.com
