SENIOR SECTION

After an emphatic victory at Newport the previous week, Trefloyne Seniors went to Haverfordwest with high hopes. Both teams raised 10 pairs for yet another Thursday in the sun.

As usual, the Haverfordwest course was in good condition and there were some good examples of long hitting from both sides.

However, captain Pat Casement was unable to achieve another victory and narrowly lost 5 .5 to 4.5.

The rest of August will be spent at home with first a return match against Priskilly on August 16 and then a match against Glyn Abbey. August then ends with the final of the Alan Chapman competition.

Monthly Medal

Last Saturday saw a strong field take to the course for the August Medal.

In challenging conditions, some excellent scores were returned.

Division One winner was Matthew Adams with nett 70. The division two medal was taken by Tom Woods with a superb nett 68.

Well done to both winners who will be keen to continue their form in tomorrow's (Sayurday's) club stableford.

Please also note that there is a Dyfed League match against Derllys Court at 1 pm.

For tee times, please call Ollie in the Pro-Shop on 01834 845639.

Course Closed

Please be aware that the course will be closed this Sunday from 8 am to 1.30 pm for the re-arranged Junior Open Order of Merit.

The re-sheduled event will not show up on your diary, although members are able to play nine holes from today (Friday), tee between 8 am and 9.30 am. Please book in advance.

James Maxwell - Pro-Am Review

Langland Bay (Gwalia Pro-Am) - second place.

Farrington Pro-Am - Playing with club captain John Calleja, vice-captain Mike Allen and club owner Kim Beynon, James took a strong team to a well established club on the outskirts of Bath. A solid round of golf saw James finish in a creditable fourth place.

Junior Pro-Am Challenge

Sunday saw the second round of a Pro-Am qualifier sponsored by the Trefloyne Junior Academy fund.

Twelve golfers took to the course, with some fantastic scores being returned.

George Taylor continued his form from last week with 42 points and took a spot in the three-man team alongside Ben Palin and Jack Parkinson.

The boys will accompany James to play in the Maesteg Centenary Pro-Am this Sunday. Good luck boys.

Junior Open

This Sunday is our re-arranged Junior Open. Tee times start at 8 am to 1.30 pm, with over 100 golfers taking part.

If you have any spare time to assist, please let either the Pro-Shop or Junior organiser know.
