JUNIOR SECTION

Sunday, January 8, saw our juniors take to the course for the re-arranged Christmas meeting. Thirty-five players entered the event, with 22 playing in the nine-hole scramble and 13 in the three-hole challenge.

In fine winter conditions, head professional Oliver and assistant professional James Maxwell were extremely impressed with the fine golf displayed.

The three-hole challenge was won by Kasumi Tran, with Oliver Palin taking second place.

The team scramble was won by Dan Evans, George Taylor, Liam Cullen and Steff Jones with a fantastic score of nett 26.1. Second place was taken by Ben Turner, Will Davies, Kurt Marsh and Harrison Duckett.

The junior section would like to thank organiser Sue Ensor for all her hard work, Gareth and the team for the fantastic condition of the course and Sarah and Tom for lunch.

Sunday also saw 2011 captain Greg Palin hand over to 2012 captain Hari Truman.

Sue Ensor had the following words to say: "Thank you for all the work you have done for the juniors at Trefloyne. As the 2011 junior captain you have been great and a role model for the juniors at Trefloyne. Trefloyne juniors would like to congratulate Miss Hari Truman on becoming 2012 junior captain. We wish Hari the very best for the next 12 months."
