This community engagement initiative is all about putting something back into the club’s schools catchment area, with a view to encouraging more local children to take up rugby.
The boys and girls were put through their paces by Mark Heywood and Ryan Hill, with many parents coming along to watch the sessions and the boys and girls had a fantastic time.
Director of rugby Tim Poole said: “It was a unique experience for the coaches to go into the schools and deliver the sessions and both coaches have had a great time. This is another example of the links that the club are trying to establish with our local schools throughout our community. Mark and Ryan put together imaginative programmes and it was great to see the children who attended finish all the sessions full of enthusiasm for the game and the club hope to see many of them training with the Swifts in the near future.”
Parents of any players interested in joining the sides at Tenby United RFC or should a primary school in the Tenby catchment area like a similar rugby programme to be run then please contact Rachel Grieve for more informa
