THE Phantom Class National Championships took place in exciting conditions at Tenby Sailing Club.

Ten races were sailed over four days, with the overall positions: 1, 1516, Rob Richardson, Ovington Boats; 2, 1507, Harry Briddon, Ogston SC; 3, 1506, Jon Riickard, Hooe Point SC; 4, 1478, Ben Dancer, Llandegfedd SC (also sails in Tenby); 5, 1450, Sam Coxon, Chase SC; 6, 1481, Will Gulliver, Northampton SC.

The other Tenby sailor was Jon Nuttall, who sadly broke his mast in race two, and only competed in three races, finishing 39th.

Saundersfoot’s only entrant was James Hayden in 30th place.

There were 51 entries, a very successful four days. Thanks to race officer Nigel Denchfield and the team of TSC volunteers.

Day 3 saw several general recalls under black flag whilst the fleet contended with the tidal flow through the bay.

Osprey National Championships, Mounts Bay: Tenby and Saundersfoot members, Dave Griffiths and Maurice Clarke in Osprey 1365, Carpé Diem, finished 14th from 45.

Winner was 1352, Matt Rainback and Phil Angrave, Poole YC. (Previous Champions 2023 and 2024).

Cruiser Racing: The last race of 2026 is on Friday, September 11th at 18.00. The annual lift-out follows on Monday, September 28th.

Junior Training: The final session this season is on Wednesday September 9th, when RYA qualification certificates will be presented.

Clubhouse: New windows are being installed this month, along with improvements in the upper decks. Members will be notified by email of any changes to clubhouse accessibility. Members can also access TSC news HERE.
