TENBY Golf Club president Chris Beecher recently hosted the club’s Annual Vice President’s Day.
Vice Presidents are former Captains of the golf club.
Sydney Hughes, son of Thomas (TP) Hughes provided the original trophy in 1965.
Sydney captained the club as did both of his sons, David and Tom and also his daughter Mary.
David’s son Chris presented a new claret jug style trophy – the Hughes Family Vice Presidents’ Trophy.
Chris spoke of his pride in respect of his family’s long tradition with Tenby GC.
The inaugural winner of the new trophy was Nick Allen with 33 points. John Stenson and Ben Childs both came in with 32 points.
A party of 20 former captains and presidents’ guests attended the evening function.
The outstanding meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
