Tenby Sharks Amateur Boxing Club are on the push for new blood in the New Year, and hoping to welcome new members at their new home based at Carew airfield.
Said head coach Mark Davies: “It's that time of year when gyms across the land see people flood through their doors full of motivation.
“If you are going to be one of those people but feel like lifting heavy stuff up and putting it down again isn't for you, why not try something new?
“We have classes for most ages and all abilities, all run from our new boxing gym on Carew airfield, Pembrokeshire.
“Boxing is the perfect option for those wanting to improve their physical and mental well-being.
“There really isn't any other sport that has the history of boxing when it comes to improving cardiovascular fitness, all over weight loss and toning, self confidence, combined with the ability to defend yourself if ever needed.
The first night back for 2023 was on Wednesday, January 4 for the Club’s regular timetable.
Anyone interested in any classes are asked to please contact the Club through its Facebook page or check out the website www.tenbysharksabc.co.uk for further info and timetables.
“We will also be starting an adult beginners/fundamentals class on a Tuesday from 5.45 to 6.45 pm. This will be perfect for ladies and gents that feel they lack the confidence to join the regular sessions straight away,” continued Mark.
“As we always say - the hardest part is walking through the door!”
Recently former British, Commonwealth, European and IBF World champion Lee Selby came down to the ‘Shark tank’ to take the boys for a skills session and then watch over some of the sparring (pictured).
“Super thrilled to have someone of his calibre come through the Club and share some of his knowledge and skills with the next generation of Welsh boxers,” added Mark.
