THE dinghy racing at Tenby Sailing Club was scuppered by the weather on Tuesday, 9 September and Saturday, 13 September.

Two races will hopefully go ahead on 16 September and 20 September, plus the final race of the National Redwing series on Thursday, 18 September.

Junior training went ahead as usual on Wednesday, 10 September, with 16 youngsters going afloat in testing conditions.

A further four of the most experienced sailors stayed ashore working on their shore based topics for their RYA qualifications. Wednesday, 17 September and 24 September are the final two sessions for this year.

A second Power Boat 1 course was postponed due to weather on Sunday, 14 September.

Owners with the larger vessels in Tenby Harbour will be preparing for the annual lift-out on Thursday, 9 October.

Residents are reminded that the large crane will need clear access through St. Julian Street and Castle Square during the early hours of the 9th.

Members can look forward to the following Autumn dates: The final BBQ of the Junior Training Season is on 24 September with presentation of certificates.

A volunteers thank you party will be held on Saturday, 27 September, which coincides with the last race of the summer season, and on 24 October there will be a bangers and mash evening in supporting the RNLI where Cockles and Muscles will sing sea shanties.

Terry will be hosting the first quiz of the winter season on 25 October. 15 November is the Blues Festival, and the 21st is the TSC Annual Dinner and Prize Presentation at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth with transport provided.

The AGM is on 29 November. There will be a Christmas party in the Club on 20 December. The Boxing Day swim follows on, and New Year’s Eve will be a night to remember.
