Club Sailing

Bill Dowell ran two races on a bright sunny Sunday, with nice light wind and very little tide.

Mike led the first race from a good start, with Jamie with Alistair as crew and Dyfan having a good tacking duel, and Richard chasing everyone in the Laser, but not his weather.

Result: Mike 1, Jamie 2, Dyfan 3, Richard 4; only nine seconds between Jamie and Dyfan.

Race two was a short race, making all work quite hard. Jamie and Dyfan got very good starts, with Richard and Hanna in close attendance, Mike stopped and had a short nap, then thought he'd better get going a few minutes later, but after a good beat, with lots of shifts, managed to get to the first mark just ahead of all the other boats, resulting in a good duel downwind. At the end the same finishing positions were achieved.

All in all a very nice pleasant sail in the sun; a little nippy, but well worth it.

Results to date can be viewed at the club.

Winter Series

Racing will continue until Boxing Day, weather permitting, with two races on Sunday mornings. Any dinghy sailors out there looking for some racing are welcome to attend. Membership taken out now will include all of next year, too, so the winter racing will effectively be free.

ANNUAL DINNER

The club's annual prize-giving dinner was held at the Giltar Hotel, The Esplanade, Tenby, last Friday evening. A top class three-course dinner was enjoyed by some 80 members and guests, followed by the season's prizegiving and then dancing into the early hours. This year's club champions were Ted and Matt in their Osprey.
