Club Sailing.

This year's Frostbite series got off to a good start last Sunday in most unlikely warm sunshine and light winds. Half-a-dozen boats competed, despite four teams visiting Port Talbot for the weekend. Details of the racing and the result are presently unknown to this correspondent. So much for investigative journalism!

In Port Talbot, the three visiting Tenby Ospreys enjoyed a competitive weekend of light wind racing, finishing with mid-fleet results. Dan and Ruby Jackson, competing in the asymmetric fleet in their RS200, did rather better, finishing third overall.

Juniors

The end of season party and presentation night was a great success, with the club room filled with youngsters, instructors, helpers and parents.  Thanks to all who contributed to the buffet which was well received.

Later, the chief instructor, Blake Shaw, thanked everyone for helping during the summer.

There were 55 youngsters introduced to sailing at various levels and most weeks all of the club's 20 dinghies were on the water.

There is an opportunity to progress further during the winter by joining in the Sunday morning club races and also the open training weekends  around the county, one being at Tenby on November 23 and 24.

The evening finished with the presentation of certificates for achieving stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the RYA scheme.

Please note, the junior section Christmas Party will be at the clubhouse on December 7.
