DINGHY racers have a meeting on Wednesday, October 7th at 7pm to take stock of the 2026 season and make suggestions for 2027.
The first frostbite race was scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd.
It was a beautiful, sunny autumn afternoon with four crews raring to go, but alas the breeze disappeared.
The decision was made to postpone until Sunday, when two races were sailed in damp, drizzly conditions.
The sun soon appeared along with a pleasant force 2 breeze.
The results for the first race were as follows: 1, R252, Julian Cumpsty and Robin Wood; 2, R178, Steve Popple and Michelle James; 3, R228, Bill Dowell and Peter Prosser; 4, R241, John McKellar and Dewi Jackson.

2026 Cruiser Racing
Blake Shaw made a clean sweep, with Phil Rees in second place and Nathan Spiller in third.
Provisional Results: First race of the season for Harry Billing Cup: Slipstream. Overall: 1, Slipstream; 2, Seren; 3, Apatshe.
Midweek series for Commander Locke Trophy: 1, Slipstream; 2, Seren.
Weekend Bell: 1, Slipstream; 2, Seren.

The Clubhouse improvements go ahead every year, and the new windows certainly make a difference.
The annual RED event
Redwing sailors are organising a Redwing Series Celebration night, date TBA.
Dates for the diary are October 24th, Terry’s brainstorming Quiz; October 31st, Halloween Party; Friday November 27th, Annual Dinner; and Saturday November 28th, Annual General Meeting.
Junior training dates have been set for 2027. Registration will be on March 31st and April 7th, followed by training sessions on Wednesdays from April 14th to September 8th.
