Tenby U13s 17

Milford U13s 0

After a shock defeat defeat last week in the Pembrokeshire Cup, it was an opportunity for Tenby to get back to winning ways, and that they most certainly did.

After a hectic start to the day, with many players dropping out of the fixture and the Under 13s only looking like they were able to field nine players, Rhys Morgan and Tate Lawrence stepped up to the plate to help their clubmates field a full side.

Max James, ever vocal in goal, dominated his area and controlled the back four, ensuring Milford were unable to attack the Tenby danger area. Defence of Dom Booth, Tom Harding Jones, Dylan Scotcher and Thomas Rees not only defended superbly, but also played the ball out from the back, giving the Tenby side plenty of opportunity on the ball.

Within the first 10 minutes, Billy Lawrence had played two superb passes through to the terrier up front, Harrison Duckett, who took both opportunities as any good striker would and Tenby could settle the nerves with 2-0 up early on.

Harry Cook, playing up front for the first time since mini football, showed he has learnt a lot about the game playing centre back for a few years, and held the ball up very well for the attacking midfielders to penetrate Milford's defence. Harry laid off to Max Brindley to slide the ball into the corner of the net to make it 3-0. Billy Lawrence, also pushing forward, received a pass from Harry Cook to lob the 'keeper from 15 yards to make it four.

Harry Cook continued to battle, grabbing two more goals for his efforts, one a fantastic lob on the turn from 20 yards. Rhys Morgan followed up a thunderbolt shot from Dom Booth to smash his goal home and prove he was not out of his depth on this occasion - well done Rhys. He also put a superb cross into the box for Harrison Duckett to get his hat-trick - 8-0 at half-time.

The encouraging point about the second half was that, although the game was won, the boys continued to play the ball around the park and the movement off the ball was superb.

The second half started with much the same, the unstoppable Harrison Duckett cooly scored another goal and Harry Cook bagged another three, to prove he may be ready to go back to his old striker's position!

Fin Bowie worked tirelessly on the left-hand side whipping great balls into the box, putting Milford's defence under great pressure and resulting in many Tenby goals.

Dom Booth and Tom Harding Jones escaped from defence for the last quarter to join the Tenby attack, with Harry Cook demoted to centre back to give someone else a chance to score!

Tate Lawrence attacked Milford without being intimidated, and on one occasion, beat three Milford players to lay the ball off for the advancing Dom Booth to thunderbolt the ball home. Dom also scored two more goals to claim his hat-trick, one from some 20 yards out, a truly great finish, and one poacher's goal.

Max Brindley ran the midfield organising the attacks well, and on one occasion, beat three Milford players and drove the ball into the danger area, only for Tate to rifle into the top of the net - well done Tato!

Billy Lawrence also picked up another goal cooly slotted in to the corner to round off a strong personal performance.

A truly great performance from the whole team, well done boys.
