Another week has passed with more great performances!
IRONMAN 70.3 WEYMOUTH: Well done to Simon Stanford five hours 26, Ian Vickery five hours 44 followed by seconds by Sophie Thomas. Sophie coming ninth out of 64 in her age group! This half Ironman distance race was held in the popular seaside holiday resort of Weymouth, with fine Georgian seafront provided an impressive backdrop to the bay’s long arc of fine, golden sand. The views from the bay are spectacular, stretching across the horizon taking in the world heritage jurassic coastline. Weymouth’s beautiful, sandy beaches, rich heritage, and spectacular coastline make it an ideal location for Ironman.
DONNA’S UNFINISHED BUISNESS!
Sunday morning there was a great turnout for ‘Operation Donna Bradley’. Having not made the bike cut-off time in Saundersfoot on Ironman day, by only three minutes, Donna had not had the chance to run the marathon she had trained all year for. So, we decided secretly to join her on her planned run with Anto, members joining her at different places and times along the route. We were very chuffed to see her finish in a great run time of five hours 12 minutes, she had smiled all the way round and we applaud her for her determination and dedication.
CHEQUE DONATION FROM TENBY’S EX-SERVICEMAN’S CLUB
Sunday night, while out celebrating Donna’s achievement, we were presented with a cheque for £100 for the WHDCU charity by Mally Coates. Many thanks to them.
