South Pembrokeshire Golf Club members Alan Jones and Mick Seal set up Junior Golf earlier this year. They had an excellent response which resulted in children becoming junior members and attending on a weekly basis.
With the help of golf professional and appointed Welsh Golf Union coach Robert Ryder, the juniors have made significant improvements.
Recently, the club has been approved for the quality of its junior golf provision and has gained GUW Junior Golfcert Accreditation 2013-2014.

Tuesday, August 21, saw the return of one of our novelty rounds known as 'Putt Putt', where only the putts played once on the green determine the winner. Lateral thinking, creative chipping and positive putting rules the day. Excellent examples of each were on display all round, with John George 27, Bob Veale 25 and Chris Clarkson 23 deciding the outcome.
Thursday, August 23, saw the seniors' captain, Mr. Simon Davies, welcome the Haverfordwest captain, Mr. Rod England, and his band of merry men to South Pembs, for this year's home encounter.
Between the showers, it was one of those days when wet gear was on and off, up and down like a 'you know what'.
Despite the weather, a fine display of golf, played in the true spirit of the game, prevailed.
The home team took full advantage of local knowledge, winning 6.5 to 1.5 .
On returning to the 19th, it was good to see that the outcome and the rain had not dampened spirits. Much praise must be given to the ground staff, Barry, Percy and their much valued team of volunteers, including club captain, Mr. Paul Walkey, for the excellent state of the course.
Thanks also to Jan and her team for our much-appreciated high tea, and the new face, Lewys Pennington, behind the bar, whose service with a smile helped brighten up a somewhat overcast day.
Home captain Simon rounded of proceedings with one of his saucy tales, this one about postman Pat and a £5 note! And an extended hope that we have the pleasure of the visiting company on our forthcoming seniors open event on October 5. A great day was enjoyed by all.
