When St. Clears were promoted to division one last season their aim was to stay there with a view of pushing on this campaign. Few gave them a chance of doing either, but after beating highly fancied Tenby 5-4 on Saturday, the Saints are proving those doubters wrong. In a game that home team manager Craig Weston described as "Good for the neutral, more up and down for the managers" the teams dished up an afternoon of entertainment that saw two red cards, nine goals and one brilliant hat-trick. St. Clears took a 2-0 lead into the beak despite the Seasiders being on top for the first 20 minutes, although with James Dickson pulling off save after save (including one that Weston believes is the best he has seen in 25 years with the club, think of the famous one by Gordon Banks and you'll get an idea), the hosts were able to weather the storm. Josh Davies scored first before Sean Seymour-Davies added the second, although that was just for starters. After the interval, Tenby pulled one back through the outstanding Jack Christopher before Seymour-Davies added his second. Two minutes later and it was 3-2 after Sonny Phillips grabbed the first of his two. Aiden Rainbow then added the team's fourth, before Tenby reduced the deficit once more through Joe Leahy prior to Seymour-Davies completing his hat-trick. That wasn't the end of the drama as first Scott Page received his marching orders for retaliation and then a visiting player was sent off five minutes later. Tenby pulled one back with 30 seconds to go thanks to Christopher's second, but the Saints hung on, much to Weston's relief. "It was a brilliant game and we could have scored 10. We missed a load of chances and so did they. Credit to Seymour-Davies and Dickson, they were superb and also to Dan Ramsey who didn't get on the scoresheet, but his work rate was great. "Jack Christopher and Joe Leahy were outstanding for them and our boys coped with it. "We want to push on this season and see how high we can go. If we carry on like this, we should be ok." Elsewhere , Pendine lost 2-0 to St. Florence in the second round of the FAW trophy as Charles Patching found the back of the net twice, while Manorbier United went down 4-0 at Llangwm. It was better news for Lawrenny, however, as they demolished Pembroke Boro 10-0. Dean Morris had a day to remember, scoring four goals, while Owen James snared two. The others were scored by Phil Cole, Ben James, Brad McDermott-Jenkins and James Durbridge. Back to league action and Narberth went down 3-2 at Pennar Robins, despite goals from Dorian Davies and Ashley Williams, as Sam Southcott scored twice and Adam John once for the home side. It was all-square between two teams that have failed to find any form this season as Monkton Swifts and Saundersfoot Sports drew 2-2. Ryan Griffiths and Mike Canton scored for the home team, while Chris Milward bagged a brace for the Seasiders. In division two, a couple of goals from Lloyd Hughes and one by Harry Ryan were enough for Carew to secure their third win of the season after a 3-0 victory at Goodwick United seconds. Hundleton went down, however, following a 5-1 result at home to Milford United. The goals were certainly flowing at Tenby as the home team's seconds bagged six without reply against Letterston. Patrick McKeown led the way with two, as did Mo Safan, as Richard Tebbutt and Henry Lawrence nipped in for the others. It was derby day for Kilgetty as they travelled to Carew to play their seconds and came away with a 2-2 draw. Jack Franklin scored both goals for the visitors to keep them in the points after last week's win, while Sion Jenkins and Tom Harries scored for the home side. Lamphey's winning streak came to an end, although their unbeaten form continued after a 2-2 draw at home to Hakin United's seconds. Dan Kitts and Anthony Webb were the scorers for the home side. Narberth thirds were forced to take a share of the spoils at home to Pennar Robins' seconds after the teams were locked 3-3. Chris Fearson grabbed the home team's first before Dylan Davies and Simon Cole also got on the scoresheet. For Pennar, the goals came from Shaun Powell and Carl Rees, who scored twice. St. Clears' seconds ensured it was a night for celebration in the club after they won 3-2 at Pennar Robins' thirds. Goals by Simon Bancroft, Ian Derbyshire and Lloyd Evans secured the points, despite Gary John and Rhys Lucas's efforts for the home side. Monkton seconds went down 2-1 at Neyland reserves, but a brace of goals by Jonathan Harries and one by Matthew Webb were enough for Saundersfoot Sports to dispose of their counterparts from St. Ishmaels. In division five, Kilgetty seconds were thrashed 9-0 at home to Angle seconds after four goals apiece from Luke Wickland and Andrew Thomas, with Jake Seaton nipping in for the other. Carew thirds won 2-1 at home to Fishguard Sports after Liam Marklew and Sam Harts were on target, while there was a spectacular game at Narberth as the home team's thirds drew 5-5 with Hundleton. Jacob Layfield scored twice for the Bluebirds, with Dafydd Wright and Karl Jones also getting in on the act. The other goal was an own goal. Meanwhile, an own goal by Solva seconds was the only way in which Pembroke Boro seconds could score as they lost 5-1 away.
