The Seasiders received another set-back in their promotion push as second placed Gorseinon left Heywood Lane with victory to leave them five points clear of their hosts in the division.

Gorseinon were seeking revenge for a defeat by Tenby on their own patch earlier in the season and led before the break thanks to an unconverted try by flanker Oliver Pardoe.

Replacement scrum-half Will Cockford managed to level the scores for the United in the second half with an unconverted try, but the opposition regained the lead when centre Andrew Steel crossed over.

Andrew Colwill converted the try and Gorseinon saw the game through.

Having picked up only a point from their draw at Llanybydder the previous week and none bagged from Saturday's defeat, the United have now slipped seven points behind league leaders Penclawdd
