Saundersfoot Sea Angling Club welcomes you to the 2017 season with our first match at Amroth this Sunday - see details below.

Last year saw the introduction of bait digging restrictions at Dale - no digging at all until April - and fishing restrictions for recreational anglers - no bass to be taken off the beach, or from boats, until July 1. These measures remain until further notice, so we shall look forward to improvements in the catch over the following years, now that the powers that be have incepted adequate conservation instruments.

For those of you who wish to contribute to the nationwide Sea Angling Survey to monitor the effectiveness of our great political leaders, all sea anglers (no need to be a member of a club) are invited to sign up to the survey at www.seaangling.org which is supported by, amongst others, the Welsh Federation of Sea Anglers.

The winners of the various cups and trophies will appear at a later date, but congratulations to 2016 Top Rod Andrew Rogers who was consistent all year, winning four matches and ‘on the podium’ a further eight times.

Following the AGM held at the Old Chemist Inn last month, for your information all officers were re-elected unopposed, membership and match fees unchanged, no material changes to this successful angling club.

The annual Fur and Feather match was held on Sunday, December 11, with the Nicky Hudson Shield being won by Leigh Rogers.

Many thanks to Ollie and Rita and their staff for their warm welcome at the Old Chemist Inn, Saundersfoot, and the hot food provided to the 17 anglers who supported this match.
