Saundersfoot Sea Angling Club held a match at Ginst Point on Sunday, the match being sponsored by Donna and Adam, of Sandyhill Cafe. Fourteen anglers competed on the beach, which has proved less productive than Pendine itself. Not the best of days on Sunday, with only five competitors bringing fish to the scales.
The results were: 1. Liam Marklew (J) with a flounder of 707g (£100 and 10 club points); 2. Rob Collins with heaviest bag (£50 and eight points); 3. Leigh Rogers with second best bag (£25 and six points); 4, Mel Matthews (four points).
The Golden Peg number drawn was 22, that of Tony Ormond, who was cast adrift on a fishless sea.
The number of people returning to the weigh-in is reducing - please make the effort to attend the weigh-in, even if you catch no fish, otherwise our sponsors won't realise how many anglers actually supported the match!
If you read these reports and wish to join the club, whether novice, junior or experienced, please contact Tony Ormond on 07973 332215.
Leaderboard at end of April: 1. Llewellyn Rose (28 pts); 2. Leigh Rogers (26); 3. Chris Watkins (22); equal 4. Tony Ormond and Andrew Rogers (21). Every match this year has had a different winner. Currently only 22 points separate the top 16 club anglers.
