Frostbite Series

The next two Frostbite races are at 10 am on Sunday.

November Fireworks

After the Saturday postponement due to the severe gales (they forget to forecast those properly after the false alarm of the previous hurricane!), a good gathering of members and guests enjoyed the comfortable vantage point of the clubhouse to see the display last Sunday. Socialising continued well after the pyrotechnics had ceased.

Safety at Sea

From January 2014, the delivery and assessment of the VHF/DSC SRC course will change due to updated guidance and direction from the MCA. Those with boats that go offshore or cruise are strongly advised to update to DSC radios if they have not already done so as there are many advantages improving safety at sea for the user.

The changes are going to mean an increase in cost to qualify and you may therefore be interested in taking a course before next year.

West Region establishments offering courses are: Pembrokeshire Cruising, Neyland - contact  [email protected]">[email protected] or tel 01646602500; PPSA Dale (course on November 30) - contact Richard Owens [email protected]">[email protected] or tel. 07967049885; PAC, East Llanion (course on November 8) - contact [email protected]">[email protected] or tel. 01646622013.

There is also a special offer for a RYA Day Skipper course to be held November 11-15. Discounted price of £195, normally £325.

Laying Up Supper

The next event in the social calendar is the Laying Up Supper on Saturday, November 16, £5 a head for home made steak pie and peas with a pudding - amazingly good value - so don't miss out. Always a great evening!

AGM

Don't forget our AGM at 2 pm on Sunday, November 17. Have you read the supporting papers?! Soup and ploughmens' lunches will be available from 12.30 pm.
