Darts

I'm afraid we were treated to a master class in darts by Tenby Bowling Club last Friday. We suffered a complete whitewash, with Wendy being the only player to get down to a double finish. The only real positive was the good naturedness of our opponents as they pummelled us! Tonight (Friday), we are home to Swan Lake. All welcome.

Six Nations Champions

The Welsh national animal is a dragon, the national flower is a daffodil, the national vegetable is a leek, the national colour is red and now the national number is 30.3! What a great game our team played to secure the fantastic win! A really great end to the Six Nations. Euphoria reigned in the clubhouse and elsewhere.

Fitting Out Supper, Saturday, April 6, 7.30 pm

What better way to mark the start of the new sailing season than with a convivial evening among friends? We've a great evening of food and entertainment planned starting with our ever popular roast pork - succulent locally sourced roast pork and a roll with all the usual trimmings and a tasty pudding to follow. All for just £5 a head. (Smaller portions for children available).

Then it's under starters orders for the SSC 'Not Very Grand At All Really' National Race Night presented by our very own racing pundits. We couldn't afford to go to Haydock Park for the real thing, so we'll hold our own here instead.

The fitting out supper is always a popular event so to avoid disappointment please book your food as soon as possible.

It's the perfect opportunity to catch up after the long winter lay-up and we look forward to seeing you there. Family and friends welcome as always.

Harbour Issues

At the committee meeting last week, it was universally acknowledged that considerable dissatisfaction remains over the workings and decisions of the new Harbour Commissioners. The guiding role of the statutory advisory committee has not been working as the legal Harbour Order intended. All members' views on any harbour issues are welcomed and may be channelled through John Griffiths as the club's representative on the advisory committee. Membership

Renewals are now well-overdue and those who have overlooked this necessity will find that the front door combination lock code has now changed. The new number will be advised on renewal.

WYA Youth Championship

The WYA is seeking volunteers for the Welsh Youth and Junior Championships at Pwllheli on April 27-28. A variety of positions need to be filled both on and off the water. They are offering a free ticket to the hog roast on Saturday night for volunteers and a big thank you! It's a great way to get involved in welsh sailing and a good thing to put on your sailing CV!
