Wet, Wet, Wet

No, not the pop group just a description of last Sunday's Frostbite! The strong gusty winds of last Saturday did ease for the Sunday racing, but sadly so did the magnificent sunny conditions and the Frostbite race was run by Peter Bower under dull skies and horrid raw rain with a force 3 westerly. Even so, seven hardy competitors participated and managed to follow the Monkstone, Pendine, harbour course, monitored by stalwarts Graham and Ben on patrol. Most endured two laps and three-quarters-of-an-hour of racing, brrrrh! However, competition was not in the least subdued by the conditions with all the boats which sailed two laps actually crossing the line with very little time between any of them. Chris Bannister (Blaze) crossed the line first, with Paul Johnson (Tasar) right on his heels and the two Solos of David Plester and Alan Lambert very close behind. After handicap corrections, David took the win by just 10 seconds from Alan in a Solo duel, with Chris in third place, Tim Harrison (Laser Radial) in fourth, and Paul fifth. No capsizes, but everyone was quite as wet as if they had!

There is no racing this Sunday, (what's the betting it is a perfect day?!) The last two Frostbite races start at 2 pm on Sunday, November 11.

Darts

There was good support for the darts match against Tenby Sailing Club last Friday and we were pleased to welcome some new members as well as the visitors to the club on the night. It was a friendly and enjoyable evening and our courtesy extended to providing a 7-4 win for Tenby - after all, we had won both of the two previous encounters! In the singles, it was a sad case of Skipper's Mate being keel hauled by GP14, other details remain sub judice! However, we look forward to the return match on March 15. Many thanks to Jackie for the excellent food and Martin on the bar.

Today (Friday), we are to be sacrificed away to the league leaders Castle A (solace and donations would be warmly received by team members!)
