Darts

Only a one was missing from the date last Friday 3rd to make it Friday 13th and sadly our performance reflected the unlucky number. It was not a complete whitewash, but we still lost seven games to four - our downfall again being the dreaded doubles. Tonight (Friday), we are away to The Parsonage at St. Florence - perhaps we should take our own modified board!

Six Nations

A good crowd of rugby enthusiasts - Welsh and Irish - enjoyed a really entertaining and close match last Sunday in the club. Huw and Barbara provided excellent sausage and chips and the bar provided the necessary lubricant to help fortify everyone. The last 20 minutes especially was real edge of the seat stuff and for the home crowd of course concluded with the right result.

This Sunday, the tartan army invade with kick-off again at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome to participate in the pleasant surroundings of the club.

Wine and Beer Tasting With Power!

Don't forget our wine and beer tasting tomorrow evening (Saturday) at 8.30 pm. Cost £5 per head which includes five tasters and supper. Celebration

The club was packed full and buzzing with Molly's family and friends after her funeral last Thursday. It was surely an occasion which she would have approved of, remembering the full and sociable life of a spirited lady. Our picture this week features her old boat The Fast Lady - what a beauty!

Club Improvements

The full committee met last week for a productive and positive meeting and was buzzing with ideas and proposals. It was agreed to refresh the interior of the clubhouse with new lighting, fresh decoration and changes to the bar counter which are sure to be popular. The pool table is to go to give more space and flexibility of floor space and the forfeited fees suggest that this will disappoint very few! We are open to offers from anyone interested in removing and acquiring the table. Sailors and safety boat crews alike will be delighted with a decision to acquire a new 4m RIB to replace the now ageing Honda RIB. The club is being provided with broadband which will offer many up to the minute communication opportunities for members, more details to follow. From Easter, it is planned to open the club for Sunday lunchtime - please note, the willing commitment of committee members to extend facilities will only be successful if it is supported by members to come and use them! The new season sailing and training programmes were endorsed and all members should now have received details of these which are also on the website.

All in all an improved package for members, so if you have not done so yet - get joining!
