Colin Roden

The bowling fraternity of South Pembrokeshire has been shocked and saddened by the sudden death this week of Saundersfoot BC member, Colin Roden.

Colin and his wife Sue are popular members of the club and Colin's contribution to club life will be greatly missed.

He was one of the characters of the club. He enjoyed playing in the friendlies, club competitions, Meyrick Owen league and was always on hand should there be a call-up to Saundersfoot or St. Issell's men's teams. He also enjoyed the whist nights and Tuesday triples, which last year he helped Sue to organise.

Colin always had time for a friendly chat and was none more proud than when Sue was overall ladies' section captain last year. All the ladies had a thoroughly enjoyable day at Sue's Captain's Day, hosted by her, Colin and their family.

And, of course, how could we forget Colin's starring role as Father Christmas at the festive lunch in December! He was delighted to be able to take on the role of everyone's favourite gentleman in red for the occasion.

Colin's contribution to club life will always be remembered.

Members extend their sympathy to Sue and the family at this sad time.
