After a slow start for Tenby, they managed to claw the game back with great ball passing and some good defensive tagging.
The final score was Tenby 15 Laugharne 11.

Man-of-the-match went to Ollie Toy.

Under 9s
Tenby were captained by Alex Stock, whose recent efforts in defence have made him one of the league’s top tacklers.
Tenby looked to strike early, but the referee disallowed the first try and with a few decisions not going their way, this rocked them and unsettled the team.
This paved the way for Narberth’s forwards to take advantage of a few missed tackles and bundle over the line for the first try. Narberth quickly overturned the ball and struck again, making it 2-0 to the Otters.
A few words of wisdom from coaches (yes, wisdom) soon lit a fire in Tenby and the defence switched on. Madoc Evans and George McDonald hit Narberth with everything and Iestyn Barrellie used his strength and size to push back any attackers.
With Narberth on the back foot, Tenby used their runners to get in two quick tries from Evan Christan and Thomas Prince as the half-time whistle blew.
The second half saw Narberth score from the first play; but Tenby, still fired up from the end of the first half, destroyed Narberth’s attacking play and turned over the ball time and time again. This made Narberth rush their attack and one loose pass saw Iori Hart intercept and run in for the equalising try.
Tenby continued to pile on the pressure, with some excellent runs from Ollie Tucker, Megan Crawley and Cory Stephens. Will Day had the final try to give Tenby the win with a final score of 4-3.
Another excellent display from all the Swifts and the man-of-the-match went to Iestyn Barrellie, who was everywhere on the pitch and was solid in defence.
UNDER 10s
Last Sunday, Tenby Under 10s (seen below) travelled to Narberth for an away fixture. Great hands from both teams saw the ball being run at pace from the first whistle.
The Seasiders were the first team to start building substantial momentum which in turn created some good field position and would finally see a well-timed pass from Rhys find Jayden in the perfect place to nip through a gap in the Narberth defence to cross for the first try of the day.
The next try came after a charge down the middle of the field led by Rocco saw Rowan provided with the opportunity to take advantage of some space in the Narberth line and run in for the Seasiders’ second.
This was quickly followed by a forwards try. After ball was won back from Narberth in the breakdown, a strong and determined run saw Lewis power over the line for try number three.
A fantastic individual run by Connor followed from the restart which saw Tenby quickly move the pressure back up to the Narberth line, but some fiercely fought ball saw Narberth regain possession and push Tenby back into their own half.
Some big defensive tackles were needed to stop a Narberth team looking for a score of their own. Tenby forwards battled hard and eventually Tenby were rewarded when some loose ball allowed Connor to go over for his first.
The Seasiders went into half-time with a four-try lead.
Tenby came out for the second half and applied the pressure from the start and this saw them quickly regain possession and some fast hands by the backs would see Jayden given the opportunity to cross once again.
With momentum building again for the Seasiders, the forwards continued to push forward and gain valuable territory. This was then to enable Connor to show good strength to cross for a try in the corner.
Tenby’s teamwork was impressive, each player sticking to their roles and this meant possession was staying with the Seasiders. After a penalty was awarded for holding onto the ball, they took advantage and gained good field position. Narberth attempted to push Tenby back, but once the ball found it’s way into Alfie’s hands on the wing, he used his pace to weave his way down the touchline to score a well-deserved try.
Final score was a well-earned away win for Tenby 35-0.
UNDER 11s
Two depleted teams (due to players being out for county football), but Tenby (seen left) and Narberth faced each other on Sunday on the Otters’ home turf.
The Tenby boys played well and all supported each other as a team, with some great tackles and linking passes setting up some well-worked tries.
The boys showed some amazing sportsmanship and special mention has to go to Rhys S, who when he could easily have scored a try, chose instead to offload the ball to his team-mate, giving him encouragement as he did so.
A hard-fought battle saw Tenby take the victory, with 10 tries to Narberth’s two. Try scorers included Cody, Rhys S, Rhys E, Tom Y and Eddie.
Team for Tenby: Finn, Eddie, Deri, Cody, Ieuan, Rhys S, Rhys E, Dan, Tom Y, George, Cemlyn.
Fishguard U17s 28 pts. Tenby U17s 33
This was a well-deserved win for Tenby 17s (seen bottom with their coaches) who travelled to Fishguard last Sunday. A close-fought encounter saw Fishguard take first blood with a well-taken try and conversion. It wasn’t long before forward pressure from the visitors set up a maul five metres from the Fishguard try line. Matt Busby picked out the ball and stormed over. Henry Buet levelled the score with a well-taken conversion, from out wide. Two more tries soon followed after Henry Lees sped up the wing, outpacing three defenders each time.
After half-time, Fishguard fought back and brought the score to within five points. Tenby upped their game and secured victory with two great tries from Jake Roberts and Kieran Johnson. Buet topped up the score with the boot.
There were some stand-out performances, not least from Oscar Allen playing fullback/wing. Allen tackled everything, was strong on the burst and handled the ball well in difficult conditions. He was well-supported in the backs with Cam Broadhurst and Morgan Grieve at halfback, Dylan Johns and Oakley Minton in the centre and Henry Lees on the wing.
The forwards were immense, Rhys Grigg, Evan Day Henry Buet, Kieran Johnson, Matt Busby and Jake Roberts were a force to be reckoned with. A great display of disciplined, controlled rugby. We can’t leave out a mention for Joe Andrews, stand-in prop for the day, he tackled like a prop and made yards like a winger. Great stuff, well done you guys.
