Mumbles 13 Tenby United 9Tenby Untited were edged out as they were narrowly beaten by promotion hopefuls Mumbles on Saturday.

Despite the visitors leading 6-3 at the break, with two penalties from Lloyd Thomas, they were unable to take advantage.

Alan Evans landed an early second-half penalty to level the scores, but then Tenby had Thomas sin-binned after he killed the ball near his own line.

However, the Seasiders managed to survive the pressure.

With 14 men, the United re-took the lead when scrum-half Matthew Morgan kicked a penalty, but the decisive moment in the match came when number eight Lewis Buckley scored a try for the home side, with Evans successfully converting.

The visitors had chances to go back in front, as the front row of Geoff Martin, Jim Brace and Rob Luly dominated the scrum, but they were unable to get the score they needed.
