The First XV travelled to local rivals Whitland last Saturday, hoping to build on the promising performance against Hendy last weekend, without a few key personnel, who were missing due to personal commitments.

Pembroke battled well throughout the first half matching the home side, with their front row forwards claiming two well taken tries; then with the score at 12-10 minutes before half time, the home side stripped a Pembroke attacker to go the full length of the field to extend the lead at the break.

The visitors tackling proved fallible at critical times in the second half, which allowed the home side to amass thirty points, despite some excellent periods of pressure from Pembroke, who only penetrated a determined defence once, despite numerous attacks.

A red card for Pembroke in the second half did not help their cause and the home side ended up worthy winners by 47-15.

The Tigers match home to Newcastle Emlyn Dragons was cancelled, whilst the Panthers did not have a fixture.

The Youth entertained Llangwm on a dry, cool day with pitch conditions perfect for open rugby. Both teams did not disappoint, as the match was very well contested, with the older, more mature Llangwm side dominating for long periods.

The home side gave a very good account of themselves, with some well constructed attacks and determined defensive work, against a very aggressive and skilled Llangwm outfit.

The visitors were ten points up quite quickly, Fletcher Picton kicking a penalty before his forwards crashed over for a well deserved try. But the home forwards got their side back into the game minutes later, before a further penalty and second try to Jo Phillips after more good forward pressure, leaving the visitors 5-18 up at the break.

The third quarter saw both teams trade territory and the home side miss good opportunities to score.

The game continued to see saw in the final quarter with both sides building periods of pressure and scoring one try each, leaving Llangwm worthy winners by 10-25, in what had been a very entertaining match.
