Defending Division One champions Cresselly crashed to a seven wickets defeat away to Haverfordwest after being dismissed for 107.

Adam James and Nigel Morgan did the bulk of the damage with respective figures of 4-18 and 4-33.

Haverfordwest openers Danny Potter with 47no and Huw Scriven with 44 took Haverfordwest to the winning total of 109-3.

Neilson Cole would have been delighted with his stumping of fellow wicket-keeper Huw Scriven off the bowling of Iwan Izzard, who picked up two of the wickets to fall.

Rejuvenated following the influx of some new players, Saundersfoot had a 10 wickets win at home to St. Ishmaels, who were bowled out for 95.

Jonathan Pawlett, batting at number five, was bowled out for 33 as five of the Saundersfoot bowlers picked up wickets, with the best return coming from Nick Cope (3-28).

Carew bowled out the visitors Llangwm for a total of 75 and the visitors did not recover after being 7-3, despite the resistance provided by Chris Inward with 20.

Matthew Phillips (3-9) took the first three wickets to fall and there was no respite for the Llangwm batsmen as Scott Helmich took 3-33 and Rhys Davies 3-3.

Carew also had a poor start and were 7-3, with Nick Scourfield, Robert Hicks and Gareth Lewis back in the pavilion.

Tim Hicks with 29no, including four fours and one six, turned things around for Carew in an unbroken fourth wickets partnership with Tom Davies, who looked far and away the best batsman of the day in his innings of 32no, which included five fours.

Chris Inward followed up his batting by taking two of the wickets to fall.

Whitland salvaged a draw away to Lawrenny after the home team had bucked the low scoring trend of the day with a total of 219 before being dismissed.

It was the result of consistent batting particularly by Steve Lewis with a stroke playing innings of 71, which included three sixes and nine fours, supported by James Buckle and Brad Jenkins, who both scored 40.

David Dunfee with 5-40 was the pick of the Whitland bowlers.

In response, although Paul Davies scored 43 and David Lee 25 in a second wicket stand of 54, and Matthew Davies chipped in with 25, wickets fell at regular intervals and Lewis followed up his batting with bowling figures of 3-22.

Narberth also settled for a draw at 129-9 chasing a Neyland total of 170-9.

Paul Murray struck six sixes in his attacking innings of 75, backed up by Gregg Miller with 31.

Narberth skipper Ian Hughes (3-53) and another spinner Matthew Johns (3-39) did most of the damage.

Although Kyle Quartermaine scored 49 for the visitors, supported by Mark Hughes with 28 and Joel Davies with 21, Patrick Hannon (3-37) and spinner Gary Lloyd (3-16) caused wickets to fall to restrict partnerships.

Division Two

Pembroke had a disappointing start upon their return to Division Two and were bowled out for 65 at home to Herbrandston, who were playing in Division One last season.

Kristan Bennett took 4-10 for the visitors and the only resistance came from Rob Weston with 19.

Meyrick Rowlands (3-12) and Carl Smith (3-29) picked up wickets and the only resistance came from Brennan Martin with 25 and Keith James with 22.

Paul Webb (21) and Kevin Pearce (20) provided the platform for a Whitland total of 96-4 and, although Brennan Martin and Tom Blaxland both took two wickets, they lacked the necessary support to make inroads into the batting line-up.

Division Three

Pembroke Dock lost by two wickets to Johnston Seconds, in their first match back in Division Two. Batting first, the Dock were restricted to 121-8, although Luke Murray held things together in his innings of 36.

Steve Jenkins took 3-25 for the visitors, who recovered from being 38-6 to reach 122-8.

Nick Daley caused the early clatter of wickets in his 4-10 spell, but the Johnston hero was the former Saundersfoot player Steve Badham with 34no batting at number nine in an innings during which he hit three sixes.

Andrew Page played the other innings of note with his knock of 20.

Narberth Seconds were dismissed for 153 at home to Fishguard. Mike Johns top scored with 43, backed up by Ceri Davies with 37 and Richard Howell with 29.

Mike Lawrence took 4-39 for the visitors and Anthony Cousins 3-17.

Fishguard also found run-scoring and keeping wickets intact something of a problem as Daniel Hughes took 4-31 and Mike Johns 2-37.

However, steady batting by David Haynes and Rhys Dalling, who both scored 34, backed up by Scott Delaney with 23, helped the visitors get a three wickets win in a total of 154-7.

Crymych made the journey south to Lamphey and had the hosts on the rocks at 31-9, but a last wicket stand between skipper Jason Oatley and Andrew Skeels, took Lamphey to a total of 60, with the top score coming from 'Mr. Extras'.

Experienced seamer Dai Jenkins exploited the conditions with a 6-8 spell of accurate nagging bowling, which included six maidens, supported by Marc Thomas with 3-14 when he came on as first change.

Cresselly Thirds were bowled out for 63 at home to Camrose and Spittal after Tom Davies had taken 5-24.

Not for the first time, David Isaac held things together in his undefeated 28 as Ben McDonnell took 3-24 for the visitors.

No play was possible in the match between Narberth Thirds and Neyland Seconds, and in the match between St. Ishmaels Seconds amd Pembroke Dock Seconds.

The pitch at Herbrandston also prevented play in the fixture between Herbrandston Seconds and Pembroke Seconds.

Division Six

In the only match played in Division Six, Crymych Seconds had a seven wickets win at home to Lamphey after the visitors were dismissed for 81, despite the efforts of Ben Hathaway with 20.
