Llanharan 17 pts. Narberth 22
Following the midweek 27-17 defeat away to Cardiff Met, the Otters had to lift themselves for the away game at Llanharan to do the business and come away with a hard fought win in another demanding end of season fixture. Narberth took the lead after seven minutes with a try scored by centre Steve Martin in the right corner. It started with an attempted kick up field by wing Nick Gale. Such was the power in the kick that it was not charged down cleanly. The ball bounced out of the defender's hands and the momentum took it up field. The Narberth backs pounced on the ball and after a typical flowing movement from left to right skipper Steve Martin was released to use his pace to evade the chasing defenders as he touched down for a try in the right corner. Gale finished off the movement he started with a terrific touchline conversion. Llanharan fly-half Codey Rees reduced the deficit with a penalty kick, but midway through the first half flanker Stuart Worrall scored an unconverted try for the Otters when the ball was recycled after a drive by the pack. The Dairymen replied with a try by flanker Rory Martin-Smith, converted by Codey Rees to reduce the deficit to two points at the interval. Two minutes into the second half the Dairymen took an early lead with a try by centre Morgan Williams which was converted by full-back Tyler Williams, who had moved to fly-half to replace the injured Codey Rees. However, a penalty kick by Otters' fly-half Ianto Griffiths, followed by a try after a superb solo effort from Griffiths when he weaved though the defenders restored the Narberth lead. Griffiths put the icing on the cake by converting the try which gave the Otters a rare win at the Dairy field. Commenting after the match, team management spokesman Robert Lewis said: "It was a very good win at Llanharan where it is always difficult to get a result. "Our set-piece work was quite good and as the game went on we put Llanharan under more pressure in the scrums. "Although we scored some good tries, we missed out on a number of opportunities to score and at times we struggled after the demanding mid-week fixture against the Mets. "Some of the players are carrying injuries and we missed the attacking options of Jonathan Morgan when he left the field through injury. "Nevertheless, it was a very good end of season performance and we must compliment our players and coaches for such an excellent season. "It was an excellent result at a ground where we have lost so often in the past." Once again the Narberth back-row of Dylan Richards, Stuart Worrall and Lewis Wood together with replacement flanker Timoci Kaumaitotoya played extremely well as a unit. Replacement prop Sean Lloyd shored up the scrum, wing Nick Gale improves with every game and Ashley Sutton was excellent when he moved to full-back in the second half. Narberth fielded: Jonathan Morgan (Ianto Griffiths), Nick Gale, Steve Martin (capt.), Richard Davies, Tomi Jones (Jason Howells), Adrian Killa (Rhys Lane), Ollie Evans (Sean Lloyd), Dan Smith, Tom Slater, Adam Clark, Alex Jenkins, Dylan Richards (Timoci Kaumaitotoya), Stuart Worrall and Lewis Wood.
