Dinghy Racing: Weymouth and Portland International Sailing Academy have begun their 2024 Laser qualifiers with three Tenby members taking part.

Last weekend, after 5 races, with 54 entries, Nina Marsh won one race, came overall 12th, and Amelia Nuttall came 23rd, in the ILCA 4 class, and in the ILCA 7 class, Jon Nuttall sailed three races to end 22nd.

Half the fleet are in the sponsored British Sailing Team. The ILCA qualifiers are some of the highest lever sail boat racing in the world, and the girls look like pros on the water.

They’ll be heading back down next weekend for the next qualifiers.

At home Isabelle Nuttall got two race wins i n Neyland for TSC in her Tera.

Dinghy racing in Tenby will begin with a practice race on March 30, followed on Saturday, April 6 by three races to compete for the Doctor White Cup.

The season will continue with two races every Saturday, the first one starting at 3pm, and one race on Tuesday evenings, starting at 6.30pm.

Cruiser Racing: The racing season will start on Saturday May 4. The annual Lifting-in of the Caldey Boats, Cruisers, and other craft, will take place on Wednesday, April 10.

The winners of last Saturday’s quiz were Team Twp. Their next challenge will be on April 6.

Wednesday evenings this month have become the time for those who enjoy a friendly darts tournament to display their talents.

Registration for Junior Training is getting closer. Spaces are still available for any youngsters over the age of 8 to learn Sailing skills. Registration is on April 3 and 10.
