Last Friday saw the Masters Knockout (sponsored by G. D. Harries and Sons) take place at Narberth RAOB. Seventeen out of last season’s top 32 players turned up. with some good pre-season darts.
Losing quarter-finalists were: Stuart Phillips (Jeff A), Nigel Thomas (Ivy Bush), Andrew Major (White Lion) and Bob Beecham (Wisemans A).
Losing semi-finalists were: Mikey Rees (Bush Robeston) and Anthony Elliott (Fishers). Runner-up was Justin Stevens (Wisemans A), with the winner being Rhys Davies (Jeff A).
NB: Team names are the ones that they represented last season.
Achievements on the night: Mickey Rees 16 darts and 180, Nigel Thomas 109 out, Anthony Elliott 20 darts, Justin Stevens 17 darts and 3 x 180, and Rhys Davies 2 x 19, 2 x 18, 17 and 16 darts.
Tonight (Friday) sees the introductory pairs taking place at Narberth RFC. As passed at the AGM, the draw will now be made at 8.30 pm prompt, giving players an extra half-an-hour to get there.
Recommending players to turn up as early as possible to get a practice. Anyone turning up after 8.30 pm will not be allowed to enter, and phone calls to the secretary are to be made.
Entry fee is £2 per player with £1 going towards a raffle. Prize money will be subject to entries.
