Thirty-one swimmers from Pembrokeshire took part in the recent Welsh Age Group Championships at the Wales National Pool Swansea.

The youngsters - from Haverfordwest Seals, Pembroke and District, Tenby Dolphins, Fishguard Flyers and Milford Haven - swam together as Pembrokeshire County Swimming.

More swimmers were qualified to swim this year than 2011, gaining 140 personal bests from 224 swims (62.5 per cent).

Pembrokeshire were chasing last year's total of 45 medals, with many swimmers swimming out of age with one more year left in their age band.

In total, they achieved 36 medals from two relays and 11 swimmers, an improvement on 2010's total of 22 medals.

Gaining Welsh Regional Squad times were: Jordan Harding in the 200 b/c, Kelsey Williams 400m IM, Carys Thomas in the 400 IM and 800 f/c.

Seven national qualifying times were gained: Kelsey Williams 200brs and 400 IM, Jordan Harding 100 and 200 b/c, Carys Thomas 200 and 400 IM, 800 f/c.

There were 70 finals from 20 swimmers (including four reserves) with the following medals achieved: gold - 10 (1 relay gold); silver - 14; bronze - 12 (one relay bronze).

Five swimmers were Welsh champions (Carys Thomas, Hannah Saunders, Jordan Harding, Ffion Davies, Kelsey Williams).

The medal winners were Dan Thomas, Dan Davies, Hazel Fox, Isabelle Davies, Michael Hire, Carys Thomas, Ffion Davies, Hannah Saunders, Kelsey Williams, Jordan Harding and Isabel Johns and the girls relay team 4 x 100 medley and 4 x 100 freestyle.
