Local shot Robert Jamieson won yet another gold medal in division six of the National Accoustic Shooting League recently.
A member of the Modern Print Inclusive Target Shooting Club, Jamieson proved once again that he is one of the best rifle shooters with a visual impairment in the UK.
Angela Miles, the disability sport officer for Sport Pembrokeshire, the sports development team at Pembrokeshire County Council, paid tribute to volunteers who help the club and Jamieson thrive.
“If it wasn’t for the support and advice received over many years from various people, athletes with a disability from across Pembrokeshire wouldn’t be able to showcase their talents and Robert is undoubtedly one of the most talented shots locally.”
Lloyd Davies, in his first year of shooting, was another member of the club to shine, taking a silver medal in division 12.
Non-disabled shooters and those with dispensation certificates also acquitted themselves well in the Eley National Postal Competition.
The competition is widely supported, with more than 3,000 entries in 34 divisions from as far away as Gibraltar and Kenya.
Ron Hovell in the 10mt Air Rifle division ‘D’ won gold, with Francis Parry in the 10mt Air Pistol division ‘D’ winning silver.
