The ‘Saturday Swingers’ of Tenby Golf Club recently embarked on their annual pilgrimage to St. Davids Golf Club.

However, this year the trip took place during the summer rather than the winter. Consequently, the Swingers benefited from warm weather albeit with a stiff sea breeze rather than the usual torrential rain and gale force winds.

There were two excellent scores of 42pts with Steve Maytum’s back nine (23) beating that of Gary McNeilly (22). Owen James was third with 39pts.

Tenby have gone through to the next round of the Annodata Matchplay.

Tenby Golf Club had to cross Offa’s Dyke for the third round fixture at Ludlow GC.

In the Annodata Matchplay, teams of five play singles.

Unfortunately, Neil Thomas and Mike Davies lost their respective games. However, Nick Goode and Austin Davies both fought back to claim wins on the last green.

In the deciding rubber, Brian Jones showed no nerves and also won his game by the narrowest of margins.

The visitors were impressed with Ludlow GC, a parkland course within the Ludlow Racecourse. The greens were in a wonderful condition.

The Tenby team is now looking forward to the next fixture.
