Tenby Girls U10s
This week, the Under 10 girls played in Pembroke for their latest round of games. Unfortunately, due to the weather the Under 12s games had to be cancelled. The girls played well. Playing six games altogether, winning three and two ended with a draw. While they managed to score six goals, the whole team worked hard to only concede one goal, with a bit more luck they would’ve scored a lot more as they had many shots blocked.

Prendergast Villa U14s 1 Tenby U14s 6
Tenby Under 14s, sponsored by Oakwood and United Aerospace, of Pembroke Dock, travelled to Haverfordwest to play their 10th league match against Prendergast Villa. Although the morning was dry with a little glimpse of sunshine, under foot was fairly wet and sticky.
Captain, Leo Sarrionandia won the toss and elected to play up the slight slope during the first half. The majority of this half was played around the middle of the pitch with neither side making much head way. However, the game sprang into life when a curling shot from out on the left, by Villa’s Will Hughes, looped over Dylan Noot in the visitors’ goal. Carl Thomas hit the post for Tenby and persistent running by Jamie Bartlett resulting in him being brought down inside the box. Rhys Morgan scored from the spot.
The second half saw a much more determined Tenby side and when Bartlett lobbed the Villa keeper from the edge of the box their confidence grew. Darren Gibson headed home from a Sarrionandia free kick and Thomas hit a low shot into the far corner of the Villa goal. Gibson grabbed his second from close range and the final goal came from Jacob Hipkiss.
A good performance in what turned out to be difficult conditions.
Tenby ‘man of the match’ was Jamie Bartlett.
Tomorrow (Saturday), the Seasiders Under 14s are home to Pennar Robins. Support is always appreciated.
