Less than a month into the current season and we’ve already had our first postponement due to rain.
Carew were one of the teams to have a day off after their game at Johnston was one of the games affected, so too was Kilgetty seconds for their home game against Newyland seconds.
It was the first day of the Senior Cup too, with Pembroke Boro travelling to Camrose for their fixture, although the hosts were too strong for the travelling team as they went down 8-2.
Carl Morris and Rees Neville slotted away the Boro’s goals.
Hundleton hosted Milford Athletic and put their league woes to bed with a resounding 6-3 win over the visitors.
The hosts, winless so far in this campaign came back to form with three goals by Jack Blunsden and one each for Perkins, Sharp and Abrahams.
Billy Davies was on fire for Lamphey in thier 5-0 win over Letterston as the ace striker scored three in their comprehensive win.
The other goals came from Lawrence Ford and Jack Richards.
Cosheston had the difficult task of trying to boot Merlins Bridge out of the competition and it was no surprise to see the cup’s multiple winners coming out on top in a 10-0 win, while Narberth, another team who have been struggling this season, also came into form with a 19-2 hammering of Newport Tigers.
Jake Webster and George Lander both scored five for the Bluebirds, while Jordan Williams hit three, and Dylan Davies and Daf Wright two apiece.
Chris Brown and Ben John hit the others.
Connor Bowen and Callum Siddell both scored twice for Pendine in their 5-4 win over Prendergast Villa, with Ewan Jones netting the other, while Saundersfoot were also involved in a close encounter winning 5-3 at home against Milford United.
Geoff Marsh struck twice for the hosts, with the others coming from George Wilkins and Brian Howells.
St Clears and Kilgetty were also involved in a thriller, with the Saints just edging the visitors out 4-3.
Richard Tebutt scored twice for Kilgetty and Carl Gwyther got the other one, but two from Nathan Evans and one each from Steve Thomas and Joe Gouldingray ensured the home team went through to the next round.
Monkton Swifts have been having a good season so far and Saturday was no exception as they travelled to St Ishmaels and secured a smooth passage into the next round following a 11-2 win over the home team.
James Russell led the way with a hat-trick, while Gwylan Davies, Patrick McDonnagh, Paul Miller and Ben Steele each scored twice.
It wasn’t all Senior Cup, though, as some league games took place, with Lawrenny hosting Merlins Bridge seconds in division two.
It was a good day for the home team too after they won 2-1 thanks to goals from Dean Morris and Tom Lewis.
In division three, Carew seconds came out on top against Fishguard Sports’ seconds with a 2-0 win after Ian Derbyshire and Harvey Langstone found the back of the net, while St Florence won too following a 3-2 win away at Goodwick United seconds.
Narberth seconds beat Milford Unites seconds 3-1 with Monkton Swifts’ seconds beating their counterparts from Carew 8-0.
In division four, Pembroke Boro seconds came out on top in their derby against Hundleton seconds winning 5-2.
Andy Evans scored twice for the hosts and Phil John and Jamie Aires once each, while Connor Hay and Sam Ridgeway scored for Hundleton.
Pennar Robins’ thirds beat Broad Haven seconds 5-4, with the home team’s goals coming from Marco Valentine, Rhys Sture, Nathan Kendrick and two from Sonny Price.
Meanwhile, in division five, Lawrenny seconds beat Letterston seconds 2-0 thanks to a Harry Thomas brace while Monkton thirds hammered Saundersfoot Sports’ seconds 10-2 after two goals each from Mike Doyle and James Potter while Dylan Jones, Cameron Brunton and Jordan Boswell added the others.
Gareth Howell and Adam Davidson scored for the visitors.
Finally, Tenby’s unbeaten start to the season continued with a hard fought 4-2 win over Carew seconds thanks to goals from Mike Ryder, Jacob Hipkiss and two from Jerome Mansbridge.
