Whitland 10 pts. Loughor 15
After their exit from the WRU Plate competition in midweek when they narrowly went down to Cymllynfell 26-22, Whitland suffered another disppointing home defeat on Saturday.
With visitors to Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn, Loughor, being just one place off the bottom of division one west, the Borderers would have been hopeful of bouncing back with a victory.
But they were soon on the backfoot as Loughor opened up a 10-point lead through a try by winger Lawrence Headlam, converted by Peter Smiriglia, who also landed a penalty goal.
Headlam also bagged a second try after the break after number eight Dewi Williams had opened Whitland’s account with a try, converted by Nico Setaro.
Jonathan Thomas, meanwhile, had the final say as he banged over a penalty goal, but in the end it was only enough to earn the Borderers a losing bonus point.
