MONKTON Swifts edged into the Senior Cup semi-finals after a dramatic 4–3 extra‑time win over Tenby AFC. The tie swung back and forth all evening, but it was Dylan Davies’ extra‑time strike that finally settled a fiercely contested quarter-final.
Tenby struck first on 13 minutes when Scott Ferney finished neatly after combining with Joe Leahy. Monkton replied midway through the half, Davies levelling after sharp work from Liam Butland, but Tenby regained the advantage early in the second period through Ferney.
The Swifts hit back again on 70 minutes when substitute Connor Davies made it 2–2, and nine minutes later the hosts hit the front for the first time — Dylan Davies hammering home from the spot.
Their momentum didn’t last: Connor Davies was sent off moments later, and Ferney completed his hat‑trick in the 90th minute to force extra time. Down to ten men, Monkton dug deep and secured the win.
Goodwick United cruised into the last four with a composed 5–0 win over Clarbeston Road. First‑half goals from James Smith and Ben Adams set the tone before Jonny Horgan, Rhys Jones and Guto Roberts added three more after the break.
St Ishmaels also booked their semi-final place thanks to a blistering first-half hat‑trick from Aaron Hallam, enough to defeat Division Two side New Hedges Saundersfoot United 3–1. Harvey Drummond pulled one back for the visitors, but Tish controlled the second half to see the job through.
Neyland completed the semi-final lineup with a late 3–2 win over Milford United. After a 1–1 first half, Sean Hannon put Neyland ahead before James Morgan equalised. Mike Chandler struck an 82nd‑minute winner to send the Nomads through.
Semi-finals at Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium: 8 April: Neyland v Monkton Swifts (7pm) 10 April: St Ishmaels v Goodwick United (7pm).
