KILGETTY AFC Women's Team have thanked Tenby Post Office Stores and Fiona Malone for nominating them to receive a Lucozade Sports Kit, including donations: of drinks bottles, bibs, football carrier bag, kit bag and Lucozade Sport drinks.
Lucozade have donated 10 kits across the UK and Fiona nominated Kilgetty AFC Women because of their inclusive outlook in football.
She said: “We were really happy to nominate Kilgetty AFC women’s football team when we were asked by Lucozade.
“My son plays for the Kilgetty under 13s, and the whole club is really inclusive for everybody, so when Lucozade asked, we immediately thought of Kilgetty women’s football team.”
Kilgetty’s Lucozade kit was presented to the team by Fiona at their Chwarae FOR HER Wales V England Watch Party at Kilgetty AFC Football Club, Kingsmoor Sports Club.
The club responded: "We are very grateful to receive all of the items from Tenby Post Office Stores and Lucozade.
“We particularly appreciate the reusable drinks bottles, and Lucozade Sports drinks, we needed these because we’ve been bringing our own bottles, as the only other option was to use the men’s bottles.
“The bibs are great and the kit and football carrier bags will be really useful,”
The female game is growing across Wales and at Kilgetty AFC, making local sponsorship and support vital to help sustain and grow grassroots football.
Kilgetty AFC girls have received ongoing kit sponsorship from Ty Francis with New York Welsh, with funds coming in soon from Tesco Stronger Starts and FAW grants have paid for equipment and coach education. Training kit sponsorship for the women’s team was received from Kilgetty WI and generous playing kit sponsorship, and volunteer time, from Saundersfoot Rotary.
Along with the new Lucozade kit, these donations are a real game changer for the female game.
