Pembrokeshire Half Marathon and 10k

Summer-like conditions welcomed over 200 runners to Dale recently for the annual Pembrokeshire Half Marathon and 10k, held for the 15th consecutive year.

The event is supported by main sponsors South Hook LNG, along with TriExercise, Hains and Lewis and Station Hire, all of Haverfordwest, and attracts runners from across Wales, with some even venturing across the border from England.

The half marathon was won by Stuart Crees from Les Croupiers, in a time of 1:19:49. The first lady home was Caryl Mair Jones from Swansea Harriers in a new female course record of 1:22:37, good enough to beat all but two of the men in the field.

The 10k saw a clear win for John Collier, who took the course record by the narrowest of margins, bettering the previous mark by one second to finish in 36:13. First lady home was previous winner and current course record-holder Tasha Sexton from Pembrokeshire Harriers in a time of 44:14.

The organisers, Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club, would like to thank the communities of Dale and Marloes for their support, and the two charities supported by the event, Greenacres Animal Rescue and Paul Sartori, for providing volunteers for the course.

Full results can be found on the Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club web-site http://www.pembrokeshire-tri.org.uk">www.pembrokeshire-tri.org.uk, along with details of the club's events for 2015, which once again includes the Pembrokeshire Duathlon in Neyland (March 15), TriExercise Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon in Broad Haven (June 20), and the Pembrokeshire Half Marathon and 10k in Dale (March 29).
