Carew Under 16s defeated Camrose in a nail-biting Under 16s Cup Final on Friday evening. It was a great occasion where all involved demonstrated how a sporting competition should be conducted. Both clubs should be extremely proud of their players who gave every ounce of energy that they could muster; the coaches who have given hours of time and encouragement over the years and to the parents and friends who have supported throughout, especially at the Monkton Swifts ground on Friday. Carew equalised with only minutes to go to make the score 1-1, and this is the way it stayed after extra-time and so had to go to penalties. Unfortunately when it goes to penalties someone has to miss! Well done Camrose for such a good game and congratulations to Carew for winning the cup.
