A student from Tenby is getting ready for the trip of a lifetime later this month after being called up to the Cricket Wales disability squad.

Fourteen-year-old Harry Malone, who attends Greenhill School, has already been celebrating the taste of success having won the player of the year for his side.

But no doubt there will be even bigger celebrations when he earns his first cap for his country when the team fly out to Sri Lanka to take part in a series of Twenty20 games against local opposition.

Harry started training with the Cricket Wales Disability Team in April 2017. He’s the smallest player on the team. He can play anywhere that he’s asked and has the ability to be in the right place at the right time when fielding.

Les Randall, his coach, said Harry has developed well since training and is a popular member of the team.

The team will fly out to Sri Lanka via Qatar on October 24.
