Newly-crowned karting champion Jason Cole (Pembroke) led his team, the Pembrokeshire Hell Drivers, to an impressive win in the new Winter Endurance League.
The opening round was held on December 7 at the indoor venue of West Wales Karting. The team completed an astonishing 306 laps over a two-hour race to claim the chequered flag ahead of four other rival teams.
Five laps behind were the Average Joe's, with the Salad Dodger Racing team in third with 296 laps completed. Team Phoenix narrowly claimed fourth place by completing one more lap than the fifth placed, Folly Farmers Team.
The Winter Endurance League is a team based karting event. Teams can consist of three or four drivers and must race over a two-hour period, whilst performing pit stops and formulating the best strategy to win the race.
The next event is scheduled to take place January 11 at the Carew Karting Racetrack. Spaces are still available for teams to enter, along with openings in other teams for single drivers.
