Thirty-six pairs entered the Christmas Fourball Better Ball competition on Saturday. Once again the event was played over 14 holes in difficult conditions.

Leading scores and prize winners were: 1. Vivian John and John Gillespie 29 pts (£42 each); 2. Ian J. Thomas and Chris Hughes 28 pts, on countback (£31 each); 3. tie between Chris Beecher and Mathew Adams and Allan Morton and John Ball, both 28 pts - scores could not be separated on countback (all win £16 each).
