Tuesday night saw the eagerly-awaited second round clash in the Thomas Scourfield and Sons Harrison-Allen Bowl between local rivals Cresselly and Carew

After a shaky start in their innings, Cresselly rallied from 26 for 4 to reach a formidable total of 152, with Simon Cole scoring an outstanding 48 not out, despite some superb bowling, fielding and catching by the Carew players.

With fading light and a hint of rain in the air, the general opinion of the crowd was that Carew could have a major problem in reaching the total required.

However, a superb start from Ian Sefton, who scored 48 runs in less than eight overs together with Nic Scourfield, set Carew on their way and with important contributions from Brian Hall and Adam Chandler, they reached their target with balls to spare.
